When BLMTaiwan was created, it was created with the vision of having a community and space for Black people in Taiwan. For us, Black Lives Matter Taiwan is about nurturing Black life, health, wellness, love, and joy.
BLMTaiwan的創立宗旨是為了在台灣的非裔群體提供歸屬和空間。對我們來說，Black Lives Matter 台灣致力於培養非裔群體的生活，健康，愛與歡樂。
Black Lives Matter is a lot of things, for one, it started out as a hashtag, it is also an organization, and has become a movement bigger than any hashtag or organization. We acknowledge that BLM is merely one leg of a long relay in the history of black radical liberation and that it is the leg we are a part of. Some of the unique and specific features of Black Lives Matter as an organization has been its decentralized structure and it’s centering of the leadership of women, queer, and trans people due to the history of black liberation movements centering black, heterosexual, cisgender men (https://blacklivesmatter.com/herstory/). What a decentralized movement means is that there is no formal hierarchy and that each chapter is autonomous in its structure and function so that each chapter can make decisions and organize according to the local needs, which are different and unique to its context.

What that means for us as BLMTaiwan is that our work is focused on the local needs of the Black community in Taiwan, a very different context than that of most BLM chapters in the United States where the movement mostly abides. Black Lives Matter Taiwan, like chapters in the United States, is first and foremost centered around the needs and leadership of Black people. The black community we serve here is very diverse and come from all over the world, and we are wrestling with the nuance and complexity of being at the helm of a transnational movement.
對於BLMTaiwan而言，我們的工作重點是針對台灣非裔社區在本地的需求，這與美國大多數BLM分會的背景大相徑庭。就像美國的各個章節一樣，BLMTaiwan首先也是圍繞非裔的需求和領導力，服務著非常多元化的非裔社區，並且我們也正在努力掌握跨國運動的細微差別和複雜性。
Our three goals for Black Lives Matter Taiwan are 1) community 2) education and 3) action.
BLMTaiwan的三個目標是社區，教育和行動。
We cannot take action without first educating ourselves about the challenges that Black people in our community are experiencing in Taiwan and their home countries so that our actions can be solutions reflective of the problems. We also cannot educate and learn from and with one another if we do not have a community, which is the bedrock and foundation for Black life, health, wellness, and joy.
首先，我們必須對非裔社區在台灣及他們的母國所面臨的挑戰進行自我教育後再採取行動，這樣的行動才能成為解決問題的方案。如果沒有社區裡的彼此，我們也就無法相互教育和學習。這是黑人生活，健康，和歡樂的基石。
There are many justice issues that intersect with our mission and for those of us who take seriously the words “Black Lives Matter,” we will undoubtedly find movements and issues around the world that reflect the same values and principals, but Black Lives Matter does not exist to be an umbrella under which all issues can be addressed. Saying Black Lives Matter does not mean that other lives or issues experienced by oppressed people in many shapes and forms do not matter, ours is but one part of the fight to which we are committing ourselves to end white supremacy, colonialism, injustice, and exploitation everywhere. While many people have the idea that this movement is predicated on Black death, we want to center ourselves around the reality that it is about Black life and Black futures. When the smoke clears and the news cameras go away, Black people will have to go back to their lives, and we want to do what we can as an organization to support a life of health and wellness.
